FACTS
The first song on the first Pains album and a live fixture between 2010 and 2012, one that seems to always have been performed alone by Kip with a guitar. Its customary spot - the first song of the encore - then went to various other solo songs and it was retired from the live stage. It was heard in 2017 at an in-store solo appearance. The lyrics tell a tale of going to see other bands on the scene, with a clear reference to I'm A Pretender by The Exploding Hearts. That Portland power-pop band came to a tragic close in 2003 when three of its members died in a car accident.
