FACTS
FACTS
A song from 1999, recorded while Kip was in an acoustic indiepop band called The Sporting Life. Three songs by The Sporting Life were released way after the fact, including this one. This song was part of a compilation by Curt Kentner of Magic Marker Records.
QUOTES
Kip on Bandcamp, 2017: "When I was a teenager, I had a band with the only goal of opening for Dear Nora in the ping pong room at Reed College and maybe getting good enough to play a show at the Magic Marker house. We achieved those goals, and that was it.
We got our name from the label of the shirt I was wearing at the time. Big thanks to Curt Kentner for letting us play at his house. Nicole sang "I'm Going Nowhere," which is probably the best of the three songs here. Curt put "Queen of Sandcastles" on a compilation he did of bands that played at his house."
